Virus Hoaxes - Infectious to the mind!
Hoaxes aren't harmful and do not cause damage to your system - however there are ways that they can indirectly cause havoc - many users on a network passing them on can strain network capacity or following their advice can lead to essential system files being deleted. Hoaxes usually arrive in the form of an email and usually contain bogus warnings usually intent only on frightening or misleading users. The best course of action is to merely delete these hoax emails. If you receive what appears to be a bogus message regarding a new virus, or promotion that sounds too good to be true, it is usually good advice to check to see in case it is listed.
